The Chinese Culture Connection will hold a workshop for you to learn a brief introduction about the history of the evolution of Chinese written words, appreciate the artwork of local master calligrapher Mr. Wu Shao Ying, and be a calligrapher for the day yourself!
About the artist:
Wu Shao Ying is a master Chinese calligrapher with immense theoretical knowledge. His captivating writing in standard, running, and cursive scripts has been greatly admired and has received countless awards. Wu was previously an elementary school principal in Quandong, China. He promoted the writing arts throughout his career as an educator. After retiring, Mr. Wu taught calligraphy while reuniting with his children in Boston, Massachusetts. He is well-known and respected by the Chinese calligraphy community, students, and other master artists. At age 98, Mr. Wu still practices calligraphy with precision and enthusiasm.
