Gen Silent Movie Screening with Q&A
Tuesday, October 24, 4:00 - 5:30
LGBTQ+ History Month is a celebration that takes place in October to recognize and honor lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer history and achievements past and present. It is a time to celebrate role models, raise awareness, and continue the fight for equality.
Please join us to honor this month with a special showing of the critically acclaimed documentary Gen Silent. The documentary focuses on older LGBTQ people going back into the closet to survive an often hostile care system. LGBTQ older adults who fought the first battles for equality now face fears that many are hiding their identities and living in isolation. This event is co-sponsored by the Cary Memorial Library and is open to all ages. There will be an opportunity for conversations. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
