Lexington Recreation and Community Programs has been selected as one of only four park and recreation agencies nationwide to receive a $17,500 grant from the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), with support from the RRF Foundation for Aging. This funding, along with training and technical assistance, will be used to implement strategies from NRPA’s Healthy Aging Framework, aimed at increasing social and intergenerational connectedness and promoting healthy aging within the Lexington community.
As part of this initiative, Lexington Recreation and Community Programs, together with Lexington Human Services, will launch "Sow and Grow Together", a collaborative gardening program that brings together older adults, youth, and local partners to foster learning, leadership, and lasting community connections.
Come to our Garden Party to kick off the program and help fill the new garden beds! Enjoy arts and crafts, pizza and refreshments, and learn how you can get involved.
