The goal of these outings is to acquaint participants with our local transit, trails and places to foster greater long-term independence, health and community. Sign up for one or more than one!
Thursday, 9/18, 10:30AM-1:30PM: From Farm to France!
For this outing, we will first gather in the Community Center lobby (39 Marrett Rd), and together we will ride Lexpress to Lexington Community Farm. From there we will do a 2+ mile walk around the Arlington Reservoir and Cataldo Reservation and take a quick detour midway to stop in at MA France, a local Lexington business that leaves you feeling as if you escaped to France! (You are welcome to bring $ along if you wish to purchase a beverage, snack or items to take home, but this is purely optional!) We will then finish our walk and stop at the Community Farm to tour this unique location in Lexington. The Farm Store will also be open in case you wish to make any purchases of fresh produce to bring back. We will then board our bus back to Lexington Community Center. Bring binoculars if you like for our walk!
Friday, 10/17, 9:45AM-12:30PM: Beaver Brook North & LexMedia Tour!
For this outing, we will first gather outside the front of Crafty Yankee, 1838 Massachusetts Ave, and then ride together to our stop near the start of our walk through Beaver Brook North Reservation, a 254 acre nature area with trails and wildlife, perfect for a fall day! We will walk about 2+ miles and end up at LexMedia where we will get a tour of their production studios. Perhaps you will leave inspired to start your own podcast or television show! After this, we will all ride Lexpress back together to our starting point. Bring binoculars if you like for our walk!
