The Minuteman Sports Clinics offer participants opportunities to learn a new sport or further develop their skills through drills and fun team games. Clinics are directed by teachers and coaches in the Lexington community. No experience in the sports is needed, and clinics are open to participants of all abilities.
Minuteman Sports Clinics are offered in the following sports:

Minuteman Badminton Clinic
Under the direction of Abbey Kingman, LHS P.E. teacher, participants will be introduced to the basics of this fun, popular sport. Players will learn such skills as serving, striking the shuttle using various shot techniques, and participate in games and tournaments. This is great aerobic exercise that helps increase endurance, reflexes, and hand-eye coordination.

Minuteman Boys Hoop Clinic
Under the direction of Reggie Hobbs, LHS Boys Varsity Basketball Coach, the emphasis of these basketball clinics will be on the improvement of individual and team skills through drills, demonstrations, games, and contests.

Minuteman Flag Football Clinic
Led by Jack Sweeney, assistant football coach at The Middlesex School, this non-contact flag football clinic is for participants of all skill levels to learn, improve, and enjoy the game of football in a supportive and energetic environment. Each day, participants will practice essential football skills such as passing, catching, route running, strategies, and teamwork. Through drills activities, and scrimmages, participants will have a better understanding of the game while building confidence and practicing good sportsmanship. This clinic offers a safe and inclusive space to enjoy flag football and make new friends.

Minuteman Floor Hockey Clinic
This program, which will be led by Carolyn Greendale, LHS P.E. teacher, will focus on gradual skill development of the various skills associated with floor hockey (stick handling, shooting, passing, etc.) and also some game-related strategies. The clinic will end with a modified Floor Hockey Stanley Cup Playoff.

Minuteman Girls Hoop Clinic
Under the direction of Steve Solly, LHS Girls Varsity Basketball Coach, the emphasis of these basketball clinics will be on the improvement of individual and team skills through drills, demonstrations, games, and contests.

Minuteman Junior Golf Clinic
This program, led by LPS teacher and coach Kazu Ebihara, will provide participants with the opportunity to practice golf course management and golf etiquette at Pine Meadows Golf Club, a 9-hole course. There will be a short mini lesson (5-10 minutes) upon arrival - topics include club selection, ball position, grip, and aiming. Then participants will play Pine Meadows' 9-hole course with a group of peers, typically in groups of 4. Having prior playing experience is strongly recommended/prerequisite as the program operates on a public course during business hours, so the pace of play is enforced. Players must provide their own equipment. Program will be offered on Monday-Thursday with Friday as a rain date. Fee includes general instruction, staffing costs, and greens fees.

Minuteman Multi-Sports Clinic
Explore a range of activities including, but not limited to, Capture the Flag, Ultimate Frisbee, Ultimate Football, Team Handball, and so many more! This program, which is being run by Abbey Kingman, LHS P.E. teacher, will provide a fun and safe environment where kids can build confidence, independence, and improve teamwork. Let's get outside and play!

Minuteman PDP Girls Basketball & Leadership Clinic
Join some of Massachusetts's top basketball coaches as well as former Division 1/professional basketball players this summer for a productive basketball Player Development Program (PDP). Led by Adrienne Mugar (current LHS varsity assistant coach, former professional athlete and Boston University captain), Anna Kelly (former pro player, LHS all-time leading scorer, and Massachusetts High School Player of the Year in 2016), and Steve Solly (2-time Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year and LHS varsity coach), this program is developmentally appropriate for rising 6th-10th grade girls basketball players. The program features detail-oriented basketball skills & drills, as well as exposure to innovative sports leadership concepts as well. We will help every participant increase their basketball IQ each day. Shirt size guaranteed only if registered by June 15th. Previous basketball experience is strongly encouraged. Program will be offered Monday-Thursday.

Minuteman Track Clinic
Join LHS Track & Field Head Coach James Hall for a fun and active week! This clinic is designed for children of all experience levels - whether they are interested in joining a school track team or simply want to stay active, build confidence, and have fun. Participants will learn an practice a variety of track and field events, including running, jumping, and throwing, with instruction tailored to each age group. Throughout the week, participants will develop fundamental athletic skills, teamwork, and healthy exercise habits in a positive and encouraging environment. The week concludes with a friendly track meet where participants can showcase what they have learned and celebrate their achievements.

Minuteman Volleyball Clinic
Under the direction of Carolyn Greendale, LHS P.E. teacher, participants will be introduced to the basics of passing, setting, serving, and game play. This clinic is a fun way to get to know the game and make great friends! We will also have a counselor versus participants game as well as a tournament at the end of the week!
