FC Academy will be hosting summer programs during these four weeks over the summer...
July 13-17: Stop Motion Animation
July 20-24: Filmmaking & Special Effects
July 27-31: Filmmaking 101
August 3-7: Documentary Filmmaking
All films made in these class will be submitted to the Boston International Kids Film Festival for a chance to be selected and screened at the festival in November 2026!

FC Academy: Stop Motion Animation
- Students will learn the principles of Animation and produce a short film using objects found around the house and brought to class (suggestions will be given prior to the first day of the program) This course requires a touch screen device with access to the free app Stop Motion Studio (available for iPods, iPhones, iPads, Androids, etc).

FC Academy: Filmmaking & Special Effects
- Students will learn a new way to approach filmmaking. Not only will they collaborate to make their own short film but they will also learn a new skill that will expand their creative approach to filmmaking. This class will focus on all things special effects using tools such as green screens, movie props, camera techniques and professional editing software to bring their imagination to life. Together they will write, shoot, and edit a film in the genre of their choosing.

FC Academy: Filmmaking 101
- Students will bring creativity to life in a fun, collaborative, and exciting environment. They will learn skills in scriptwriting, storyboard sketching, improvisation, and camera skills. Students who have previously participated in our program will be able to expand on their filmmaking skills. Together they will write, shoot and edit a film in a genre of their choosing and edit their project together using Adobe Premiere.

FC Academy: Documentary Filmmaking
- Designed for students ages 14 and up, this dynamic course dives deep into the art of documentary filmmaking. Students will analyze and discuss powerful films while mastering essential techniques like interview skills, storytelling structure, and cinematic composition. They’ll also learn to shoot, edit, and produce their own compelling documentary content. Working alongside a community of passionate, like-minded peers, students will bring real stories to life and harness the transformation power of film. This course is perfect for students who have completed our FC Academy filmmaking program in the past and are eager to refine their craft, push creative boundaries, and make an impact through storytelling.
