The Human Services Dept is offering a FREE Youth Mental Health First Aid training for the Lexington community, funded through Opioid Abatement Settlement Funds. This evidence-based training helps participants learn how to recognize signs of mental health and substance use challenges in youth ages 12–18, respond with confidence and compassion, and connect young people to appropriate professional and community supports. (The skills are also useful when working with adults.)
Training format:
-Two-day virtual training (3 hours each), 2 hours of pre-work online
-Both days are required to receive credit/certification
- Certification is valid for 3 years
When?
-Tuesday May 12th & Thursday May 14th 5:30-8:45pm on Zoom
-This training is open to community members who work with or support children and adolescents in any capacity.
