New England has had more than its' share of calamitous events. The lives of those affected were never quite the same, and while these events occurred many decades ago, they continue to have present-day ramifications. We will examine the stories and the "long tails" of some of the most significant of these disasters.

The American women composers who were pioneers in the fields of ragtime, concert music, regional music, and jazz wrote themselves into American musical history. Some names you'll recognize, some will be new, but all will be inspiring as we explore their seminal contributions.

The Amazing Animals of Africa: But Not the Usual Ones with Robert Rotberg- virtual via Zoom

We will examine the lives and contested futures of the less known fauna and avifauna of Africa, including hyenas, genets, civets, okapis, Thomson gazelles, pangolins, hornbills, storks, hamerkops, vultures, wild dogs, and hippos.
From Artificial to Essential: How AI Can Help Make Education More Effective, Equitable, and Inclusive with David Rose- in person at the Lexington Community Center
Three Mondays, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., May 11, 18, June 1
The future of education, and our culture, will depend largely on how both "natural" and "artifical" intelligence are understood and integrated. This course will explore one promising approach" embedding "Assistive" intelligence in our schools and communities to address the challenges of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
