Hybrid: Unpacking Our Relationship with Food w/ Shikha Advani Register View Cart

Join us for a conversation on eating disorders that centers voices and experiences often left out of the mainstream narrative. This hybrid webinar will explore how eating disorders impact marginalized communities, while unpacking stigma, cultural context, and barriers to care. Together, we’ll build awareness, deepen understanding, and share resources to support more inclusive and affirming pathways to healing.

This program will be led by Shikha Advani, a therapist, educator, and researcher focused on transforming how we understand and treat eating disorders, trauma, and grief. She holds graduate degrees in nutrition and social work and is currently pursuing a PhD in Social Work at the University of Denver. Her work examines how systemic oppression, weight stigma, and cultural disconnection shape both individual experiences and treatment approaches. Shikha specializes in supporting those often pushed to the margins of traditional care, and her approach integrates somatic, relational, and narrative practices grounded in cultural reclamation and collective healing.

Town social workers will be available after the program for in-person attendees who would like space to debrief and connect.
