Rainbow Artists, sponsored by LexPride in collaboration with Lexington Human Services, provides LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies with opportunities to explore and express their identities and values in a safe, supportive environment. Guided by a facilitator, our weekly virtual meetings feature multidisciplinary expressive arts activities, conversation, and music. We also invite special guests to share their work and experiences as LGBTQIA+ artists.
These are not therapy groups, but spaces for connection, creativity, learning, and self-discovery through artistic expression within a supportive community of peers. Research shows that creative engagement and community connection can positively support both mental and physical well-being.
We run four Rainbow Artists groups:
Ages 8-11: Wednesdays 4:00-5:00pm, July 1-September 2
Ages 12-15: Mondays 4:30-5:30pm, June 29-August 31
Ages 16-19: Thursdays 6:00-7:00pm, July 2-September 3
Ages 18-108: Thursdays 7:30-8:30pm, July 2-September 3
