Osteofitness with Beverley Ikier and Kerri Powers - Osteofitness Summer Hybrid Osteofitness™: Evidence-Based Strength for Your Bones, Balance, and IndependenceOsteofitness™ isn't just another exercise class — it's a research-backed, holistic program designed specifically to prevent and treat osteoporosis. Built on decades of data, including the groundbreaking work of Dr. Miriam Nelson ("Strong Women Stay Young"), Osteofitness™ follows the proven formula: strength training at least twice per week is essential to increase bone mineral density and reduce fracture risk. Anything less simply doesn't produce the physiological changes your bones need. Why It Works:
Strength training twice weekly has been shown in clinical studies to significantly improve bone density, especially in vulnerable sites like the hips, spine, and wrists — the most common locations for osteoporotic fractures.
Regular drills improve balance and coordination, key to fall prevention, which is critical since one fracture can lead to long-term loss of independence or even increase mortality risk.
Guided by certified trainers with expertise in aging and bone health, participants build strength safely with joint-friendly movements adapted for all fitness levels.
What You'll Get:
Progressive exercises tailored to stimulate bone growth and improve muscle strength, balance, and posture
Integrated education on nutrition for bone building
Stress management techniques, essential for lowering cortisol (a hormone that can actively inhibit bone formation)
Personalized support, including:
A free 20-minute consultation to review your bone scan
Email coaching throughout the session
Bone-healthy monthly recipes and educational newsletters
Access to exclusive instructional videos and bonus materials
Led by:
Beverley Ikier, CPT, BCTMB — developer of the Osteofitness™ method with over 20 years of experience, trained under Dr. Miriam Nelson
Kerri Powers, owner of Fitness Together Lexington, bringing deep knowledge and hands-on coaching to every session
Program Format:Osteofitness™ is only available as a 12-week program, 24 classes, with an addition of two videos. This structure reflects our commitment to your long-term health and outcomes because meaningful change requires consistency.

Forever Fit - Free Wellness Program sponsored by the Dana Home Foundation - Forever Fit Fall Session Being out of shape can mean different things at different ages. As we age, muscle loss accelerates. We begin to notice that “we can’t do what we used to do” easily. Difficulty bending, walking upstairs, carrying groceries, weight gain, overall fatigue, or just slowing down are some of the signs that may indicate the need to build muscle and incorporate heart healthy exercises into our daily life. The Forever Fit Program will teach you how to develop strength, increase flexibility, improve balance and agility, build up endurance and reduce stress. There are three components to this program: individual assessments with the instructor, group instruction 2 times a week, and when necessary, personal training sessions offered by our fitness expert, Carolyn Gregoire.Interested in learning more? Please pre-register for the informational session on September 14 at 1:30pm in room 006 at the Lexington Community Center. If you decide this is the right fit for you, classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at 1:20pm through December.*Preference will be given to Lexington Residents; non-residents may register if space allows. No class on 10/12 & 11/11

Osteofitness with Beverley Ikier and Kerri Powers - Osteofitness Fall Hybrid Osteofitness™: Evidence-Based Strength for Your Bones, Balance, and IndependenceOsteofitness™ isn't just another exercise class — it's a research-backed, holistic program designed specifically to prevent and treat osteoporosis.

UPLIFT - UPLIFT Fall In Person SHiNE Dance Fitness™ has cracked the code to create a strength-training program that’s the perfect balance of being effective and HELLA FUN! UPLIFT™ is so much fun, it has the power to turn fitness LOATHERS into LOVERS. This is not a dance class, but each routine is choreographed to iconic music, and when safety isn’t compromised, you’re likely to find a bootyshake or shimmy. UPLIFT™ is a strength training program that builds muscles AND confidence.UPLIFT classes start with a cardio warm-up and transition to standing routines with equipment, alternating between the upper and lower body. Participants strategically work each muscle group to ensure an effective workout. A balance track is included after the muscles have been fatigued which is challenging, rewarding, and a welcome change of pace before transitioning to the mat. The workout finishes with routines for the core, booty, abs, chest and triceps and a cool down with deep stretching. This UPLIFTING experience leaves participants feeling strong and confident. Taught in person by Kristin Dean. No class 11/11
